Cutting a cigar.
There is a lot of confusion on the proper way to cut a cigar. Whether you use a punch, a guillotine, V-cut or your teeth, the object is to open the head of the cigar so you can draw through it. The main thing to remember is to not cut too much off. Part of the cap needs to stay on to keep the cigar from unraveling. If you are using a guillotine you can place it on a flat surface(desk top) put the head in it resting against the desk top and cut it. This will cut the correct amount off. If you use a punch or V-cut you do not need to worry about this. Finally if you do not have a cutter you can do what a lot of cigar smokers in the cigar factories do and use your teeth. Use your front teeth like you are pulling a splinter out of the cap on the cigar.
